How to Sell Cards on Facebook Groups and Marketplace
While eBay and TCGPlayer get most of the attention, Facebook groups and Marketplace are quietly moving massive amounts of cards. The card community on Facebook is huge, active, and deals happen fast. Here's how to tap into it.
Finding the Right Groups
Search Facebook for groups matching your niche: "Pokémon Card Buy Sell Trade," "Sports Cards for Sale," "PSA Graded Cards BST," or more specific groups like "Vintage Baseball Cards" or "Whatnot Seller Community." Join 5–10 groups that match your inventory. Each group has its own rules — read them before posting. Most require you to include a price and a timestamp photo.
Posting That Sells
Lead with a clear photo showing the card front and back, a timestamp (your username and date written on paper next to the card), and the price with your accepted payment methods. Be specific in the description: card name, set, condition, and whether the price includes shipping. Vague posts get scrolled past.
Building Group Reputation
Most buy/sell/trade groups have a feedback system — after a sale, both buyer and seller confirm the transaction went smoothly. Accumulate positive feedback by starting with smaller sales and delivering great experiences. In groups, your reputation is visible to everyone. One negative review in a Facebook group can follow you everywhere in the community.
Link your mybadge profile in your posts so buyers can check your reviews, shops, and payment methods outside of the Facebook group. Not everyone wants to do the deal inside a group — some will DM you on Instagram or go straight to your eBay store.
Facebook Marketplace
Marketplace is best for local sales — buyers in your area who want to meet up and avoid shipping entirely. List your cards with clear photos and honest descriptions. Meet in public places. Accept cash or instant-transfer payment methods. Local sales have zero fees, zero shipping risk, and instant payment.
Avoiding Scams
Never ship before payment clears. Use PayPal Goods & Services for any transaction over $50 with a buyer you don't know. Be wary of buyers who insist on unusual payment methods or pressure you to ship immediately. Check their Facebook profile — new accounts with no friends and no history are red flags. Trust your gut.
